THE GOD WHO IS BIG ENOUGH

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
— Ephesians 3:20

Think of the highest, the richest, the best, and the most. God is able to do above it all. The important thing to know is that HE IS WILLING. God desires more and better for you than you could ever dream.

We often can’t see beyond our circumstances because we are looking at heaven from our earthly perspective. We need to look at earth from a heavenly perspective. Think about it this way: who has better vision? The one who is viewing the valley from the valley or the one who is viewing the valley from the mountaintop?

I have been to Haiti multiple times. On one of my trips the hosting pastor took our team up to a high top overlooking the city of Port Au Prince. This trip was not too long after a major earthquake which left us gazing our eyes upon endless destruction. As I approached the viewpoint and looked over this devastated city, I had a completely different perspective. I saw the incredible beauty and vastness of the city.

Far too often we look at the world through our flesh and blood; our human eyes. But if we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, we no longer have to look at the world that way. We are seated in Heavenly places which means we should be seeing with heavenly perspective.

If we will but ask the Holy Spirit to help us see things through God’s eyes, from His perspective, I bet we’d complain less, pray more, love more, have more compassion, and be much more effective. The renewing of our minds to have heavenly perspective is so important. The devil would love to trap us in a life lacking passion and power.

God is not looking for greater people; He is looking for willing people.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect
will of God.
— Romans 12:2

The renewed mind is the tool, the place that God flows through, to manifest His will. Sometimes we forget that we are citizens of heaven. This is difficult to understand when we look at each other and see what we see.

We tend to live life in defense mode, but we are victorious! Victors take more ground because they don’t live in constant fear of advancement or defeat. Israel went from the wilderness where God provided food everyday, and water from a rock. They had incredible supernatural support. They literally could not have survived more than a few days without God’s provision. He took them from that to the Promised Land.

Remember this is the goal of God for His people - to lead you into a place of cultivation, fruitfulness, and abundance!

God wants to move you to a place of effectiveness and fruitfulness. Have you ever been in a desperate place of needing God to provide? Maybe you didn’t know where your next meal would come from, or how you would pay your rent or mortgage on time. In your deepest time of need, perhaps you cried out to God and He immediately provided in a miraculous way. I have been in this place more than once in my life, and it is amazing and remarkable to experience provision of this kind. It’s literally as if God is standing at your door and knocking! It’s one thing to be the the one asking for a blessing. It’s another thing entirely to be the one giving the blessings.

At some point we must believe in a God who is big enough to keep us safe in our quest for more of Him.

Practically speaking, many Christians’ devil is bigger than their God. If I focus on my need to protect myself from deception, I will always be overwhelmingly aware of the power of the devil. If my heart is completely turned to the One who is “able to keep me from falling”, He is the only One I become impressed with.

Expecting More!
